An integral part of the tourist offer, depending on the value and attractiveness, are tourist events. They alone contribute to the improvement of tourist offer of this area and make the visit more beautiful and abundant. Some of these tourist events are:
- Hunting and Fishing Fair in January, lasts 1 day
It is very distinctive and attractive, rich in hunting and fishing program for all lovers of these sports.
Book and graphics Fair, in February, lasts 7 days
Held in the hall of the military facility, today it is one of the four largest fairs in the country of that type.
Ball of the Roma, the end of January - beginning of February
Characteristic for a very rich cultural program from this region and a beauty contest.
Art Colony lasts one month during the summer
This colony has an international character, since a large number of artists come from other countries. The main characteristic of the colony is the fact that every year it is held at a different location in the vicinity of Pirot but always in those places with exceptional landscape and culture (eg Zvonacka spa, Poganovo monastery, the Temac monastery etc.)
Every year „Pirot's summer”
is held and it lasts from early July to late August.
The previous names for this event include "Lemek", "Agora " etc. and what they all had in common was to entertain the people of this region. Depending on the year and organization, the duration of this event is somewhat different but not to a great extent. "Pirot's summer" abounds in cultural and artistic programs which are mainly held in the evenings. A variety of guests and participants from all walks of life takes part in the event. The event is held in the whole area of the city, especially on those locations that can satisfy the need for the ambience for performing certain programs (eg Kale, the museum, the plateau in front of "Dom Kulture, Kay, etc.).
International Folklore Festival,
from 13th to 17th August, lasts 5 days.
Extraordinarily rich program of both domestic and foreign participants provides an ideal opportunity for fans to enjoy these forms of manifestation.
TTraditional city fair, 28 thAugust - 1st September
This is certainly one of the oldest events in this region. It was previously called "Pirotski panadjur" , and was well-known for selling Pirot rugs and other products.
International fishing contest on Lake Zavoj, 28th August, live bait.
Fisherman's kettle Pirot, held during September, lasts 1 day.
„Pasuljijada”, held during October, lasts 1 day.
Fair of Beekeeping Products (Apiary),
September or March, lasts 1 day.
International Basketball Tournament,
in late September, lasts 3 days.
Fair of goods and services,
14th-16th November, lasts 3 days.
