The Fat and the Thin, April 1st
This is a traditional sport-touristic manifestation which is held every year. A special program is prepared on that occasion and many famous people take part in it as referees in a football match between the fat and the thin. Comedy and music make an integral part of this manifestation.
Book Fair - it lasts 7 days
It is held in the hotel "Pirot"; it is one of the four largest book fairs in our country.
St. George's Day Fair, May 6-10
It is held in the 16th century monastery St. George in the village Temska. It is characterized by cultural-artistic program. It used to be an international fair because there were guests and participants from other countries.
Fishermen's Ball, January, it lasts one day
It's very characteristic and interesting. There is a good cultural-artistic program. Participants in this program are of different professions. The awards for the most successful catch are given then.
Gypsy's Ball, at the end of January, beginning of February
It is characterized by a very good cultural-artistic program from this part of the country.The Miss of the evening is chosen then.
The international Fair of Yellow Hard Cheese, August 28
It is held in Dairy school. The visitors have the chance to become familiar with the accomplishments, possibilities and tradition of making yellow hard cheese. The vistors can also visit yellow hard cheese and Pirot's rugs museum which is in school.
Traditional Pirot's Fair, August 28- September 1
That is for certain one of the oldest manifestations in this area. It used to be called "Pirotski panadjur" and it was far and wide known because Pirot's rugs and other typical reginal products were being sold then.
Fine Arts Colony, it lasts for a month in summer
As such, it is an international colony because it is visited by many artists from other countries. The main characteristic of this colony is that is held each time at a different place in Pirot's surroundings, and it is held at those places which have a beautiful landscape and culture (for example: Zvonaèka banja spa, Poganovo Monastery, Temaèki Monastery etc.)
Pirot's Summer is held every year and it lasts for a month
Some of the previous names for this manifestation were: "Lemek", "Agora" etc. What they have in common is that all of them wanted to entertain people from this area. It lasts more or less the same each year. Pirot's summer abounds in cultural-artistic program which take place in the evening. There are a lot of guests and participants of different professions. There is not a specific spot where the program is performed, but it is mainly performed in those parts whose surroundings suit best. (for example: Kale, museum, plateau in front of the Cultural Centre, Quay etc.)
